Licensing
The project’s own Rust, PHP, R and Python code and original documentation use the MIT license, copyright 2026 Erik Westlund. The exact text is in the repository’s root LICENSE; both Rust crate manifests declare the SPDX identifier MIT.
This does not relicense third-party material:
- Bundled published datasets retain their original provenance and licenses. See Gaussian mixed-model data, the preserved package license, dataset provenance, and cbpp provenance.
- Rust dependencies retain the licenses declared in their own packages. The explicit sampling dependencies
rand 0.9.5andrand_chacha 0.9.0use the MIT option of their dual licenses; notices and source hashes are retained underthird-party/andthird-party/sources.json. - Vendored Quarto web assets retain their embedded third-party notices.
- R, ggplot2 and other development tools retain their own licenses; they are not runtime dependencies of the PHP extension.
The MIT choice covers project-owned files; preserve applicable third-party notices when redistributing the library, documentation or data.
